Hace un tiempo atrás, se me ocurrió que tal vez con mejor comunicación entre nosotros, podíamos representar a nuestro país unidos y con orgullo como lo hacen otras comunidades latinoamericanas en Illinois. Debido a leyes de privacidad, el consulado General no puede dar a conocer los nombres de todos los ticos que vivimos en Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, o estados vecinos. En efecto, nadie sabe a ciencia cierta dónde estamos ni que hacemos. Precisamente, para llenar este vacío, con mucho cariño desarrolle esta primera y única red de comunicación para los ticos en Illinois y para todos los demás a quienes logre alcanzar. Este es un sitio abierto a sus sugerencias y recomendaciones, y donde el único requisito para participar es entender el idioma de los “Pura Vida”.
Con orgullo tico le entrego a la comunidad costarricense y a todos aquellos que desean compartir con nosotros esta página Web.

Society, civism, and Culture of the "ticos" in ChicagoChicago,suburbs, and suburbs of Illinois as well as our neighboring states
Hello every one, a few months ago I was having one of those rare bright In momentsMarch and2007, it occurred to me that if our community had betterthe information,means thento obtain more information and better communication, maybe then there would be more cohesion andamong thereforeourselves weso wouldthat bewe are able to represent our culture, customs,culture and ethnicity with pride as other communities do such as is the case for Mexican, Guatemalan,Latin-American Salvadorian, Ecuadorian,communities etc.do. Due to privacy laws, it is understandable that the Costa Rican consulate cannot divulge personal information of the Ticos registered with the consulate. So the idea emerges to utilize the most modern means of communication, the web! I hope that in this manner, all of you Ticos and non-Ticos from Chicago, Wisconsin, Indiana, etc who would like to participate in future events and have thea tool to be informed and up to date on current events or even make new friends. This site is open to all of you who know the “Pura Vida” talk.
